1. Accurate profiles
Teachers must provide truthful identity, education, qualifications, experience, lesson formats, service areas, rates and availability. A teacher must not use a verification badge that has not been approved for the relevant check.
2. Safety and professional boundaries
Teachers must maintain appropriate boundaries, protect student and family information, avoid private or inappropriate communication with minors, follow the approved parent-contact process and report safety concerns through the platform.
3. Lesson quality
Teachers should start and end on time, prepare suitable material, explain expectations, document assignments and adapt teaching to the student’s age, level, goals and reasonable accessibility needs.
4. Cancellations and attendance
Teacher availability must be kept current. A teacher cancellation must be recorded promptly. Teachers may not pressure families to handle paid lessons off-platform or conceal schedule changes.
5. Payments and circumvention
Teachers must complete Stripe Connect onboarding where required and may not redirect platform-introduced students to unrecorded payment arrangements in breach of their teacher agreement.
6. Reviews and communication
Teachers may respond professionally to feedback but may not retaliate, manipulate reviews or ask students to submit misleading reviews. Platform messaging must not be used for harassment, discrimination, solicitation unrelated to lessons or sharing prohibited content.
7. Music and student content
Teachers must respect copyright, use licensed or lawfully shared materials, obtain required consent before recording, and avoid publishing a student’s name, image, performance or progress without documented authorization.
8. Enforcement
Melody may request documents, investigate reports, limit bookings, remove badges, suspend a profile or terminate access where standards are breached. Serious safety concerns may be escalated to appropriate authorities.
